How to Gather Resources

When you send out a deployment to any empty square, you will get the choice whether you want to gather resources. Which resources depend on your castle level. Wood and Food are always possible, at Castle lvl 10 Iron will be added and at Castle lvl 15 Crystal.

Points

Points are acquired per unit of resource collected, for wood and food you get 1 point, for Iron 6 points and for Crystal 24 points.

Preparation and Boosts

In the Resource tree in the College there are various research projects that increase the gathering speed for each type of resource. In the Development Lord Skill tree there are boosts for gathering per resource type as well. These can significantly speed up your resource gathering. Note that Lord Skill settings will only apply to a march if your Lord is part of it.

The Supply Cart I and II City Development Research Projects increase the troop load which allow you to do larger gatherings at a time. Similarly the March Size boost (an absolute increase of the March Size) via the Drill Grounds building and the Military Leadership research projects and the Maximum March Size boost (a relative increase of the March Size) via Items increase the amount of troops in a march and thus influence how much each March can carry as well.

The Total Marches increased by VIP level 4 and the Military Legion research projects allow you extra marches, so you can gather more resources simultaneously.

A huge effect is the Gather Bonus increase item. Check if you have them, you tend to get them quite easily. They come in 8 hour and 24 hour and both give a 50% gathering speed boost. Use them during this daily event.

Tips

Just go out there and gather. At a very early stage you might not have enough troops, but later on this event should be relatively easy to win the 3rd tier prize.

The points seem to align with the default speed of gathering, so rather than selecting Iron or Crystal if you can, it is better to select the resource for which you have the highest boost (e.g. Gather Wood with your commander if the Lord Skill Points are boosting Wood Gathering).

Be careful with potential attackers. Ask your alliance members whether it is safe to gather, otherwise keep an eye on your troops while gathering.
