The Research Facility is the building where you can start new research projects, which provides very important boosts in different areas. To succeed in the game it is important to do as much research as possible. Each Research Facility upgrade gives you a 1 percent Research Speed Boost and unlocks new research project levels. Upgrading the Research Facility can normally be done once the headquarters is upgraded except for level 21, which basically requires all other buildings to be upgraded to level 21 first.
